So What’s the Deal With One-Day Decorators?
As a pioneer in the One-Day Makeover field, Cynthia has helped hundreds of clients learn to love their homes without spending a lot of cash. Totally different from Traditional Interior Design, a One or Two-Day Home Makeover is for homeowners or renters who have a smaller budget or are on a limited schedule and want fast results.
Working by the hour, Cynthia will make a house call armed with lots of visuals: Photos, fabrics, paint chips and the Internet, of course, on her laptop. Cynthia will get in there, roll up her sleeves, and rearrange a room on the spot. Then after some time talking to the client, she will provide a list of all that could be done to the space, and the client then chooses which things he or she would like to pursue. Then it’s a matter of whether they would like to do one of these options:
1) follow-through on their own
2) some hand-holding, by Cynthia, or
3) would rather let Cynthia run with the ball.
In any of the scenarios, the objective is a freshening up of the space rather than a total redo, employing the “Use What You Have” theory, with smaller, less expensive additions.
Sometimes a client just needs to have a space accessorized because they got just so far…then quit. Sometimes two families are blending and a space needs to be edited. Or, a baby is on the way and the home office needs to become a nursery…fast! Or maybe the clients are a new couple just starting out and need a little guidance on purchases so they don’t make costly mistakes.
Whatever the reasons, a Home Makeover in Cynthia’s hands is like a makeover for the face or a fresh new haircut, an instant boost that makes coming home a joy.
