A Special Style...
Beyond Typical Interior Design
“Creating a beautiful, organized and nurturing home is a goal worth pursuing.”

Cynthia has always believed that good design is about creating spaces that people love to come home to.

In her early years in the field of interior design, Cynthia saw many clients who were overwhelmed and struggling with the vast array of choices in styles, paint and furniture and called her because they couldn't begin to make a decision. Then there were the clients who thought they wanted a trendy or popular look, when what they really wanted and needed was an environment that nourished and inspired them.

Fifteen years ago, Cynthia discovered that by having a client choose a favorite object from their home or life, she could discern their design personality, and from that, create a space that gave the client a sense of well-being and comfort in their home. By researching human behavior and the psychology of color, Cynthia developed a questionnaire and helpful exercises to find a client's Design Personality before a single purchase was made. She found that certain colors, types of furniture, and its arrangement really do have an effect on a person's happiness and productivity levels.

If you are that special client who is looking for something beyond the cookie-cutter norm in design help, Cynthia will apply the principles needed to find out out what makes you feel your best, then help create a nurturing environment that provides a sense of order, well-being and comfort in your living space.

Cynthia's clients have referred to her as a “Design Doctor,” someone who listens closely and then prescribes how to avoid bad design decisions. Cynthia sets aside her own taste and acts as a facilitator, then encourages you to also put aside trends and instead integrate your personality, what you love, and what it will take to truly create an environment that reflects who you are and what you need most. Creating a home in this rather untraditional way takes a little longer, but the end result is of lasting significance.
Cynthia believes it's optimal to get this special kind of help, especially now, when time is in such short supply and value matters. She has been called many, many times after someone had made an attempt at doing their own home, and were unhappy with the results. “Nothing goes together and I don’t know why,” they will say. Or, “I liked it in the store, but I hate it in my house.”

As an Allied ASID designer, Cynthia will mold a solution around the problems presented, whether it’s spatial, mechanical, aesthetic, or working together with other trades. She works effectively with contractors and architects, and has established relationships with skilled artisans and workrooms, which ensures the project is completed smoothly and on time.

Cynthia provides a Master Plan for your space that gives you design solutions not only for your immediate needs, but also for the future.
